This property has long been one of my global Four Seasons favorites, and I remain truly grateful for the warm hospitality I always receive. I was also very appreciative of the wonderful upgrade to an ocean-view room — mahalo for that thoughtful gesture. I’ve been visiting this resort regularly since 1999, and it has always felt like a special place to return to. Because of that long history, I want to share my recent experience with kindness and understanding. After an 8-hour journey, I was hoping to rest upon arrival, but daytime renovations on the 8th floor and in the gym area made this difficult — the jackhammering and construction noise were constant. While I fully recognize that improvements are necessary from time to time, advance notice would have helped me plan accordingly. I was also a little surprised that, despite being told by housekeeping that the resort wasn’t too busy on December 1st, my request for a late checkout wasn’t possible. I appreciated being offered use of the Aloha Suite, but after many years of returning, I had hoped for a bit more flexibility. Finally, one unexpected moment caught me off guard: when picking up my electric toothbrush charger, a cockroach ran out from behind it — likely attracted to toothpaste residue. I understand that island environments can make pest control a challenge, but it was an unsettling experience. The staff was wonderful and did everything that they could to accommodate the people that they had. There was less than optimal seating for everyone. We put our names in for a chair at 7:20 AM and didn't get a call to say that there could potentially be a seat for us until 4 PM that day at the adult pool when we were eating at Como sushi there were bins of trash going by which wasn't more than less than a healing at least.
