Spacious room, love the big tub, and amazing spa!

Great overall experience here at the Riviera resort Palm Springs! Great views and superb food! The staff are A-1! Loved it!!

The front desk person or manager, Amelia, was incredibly rude. I was exhausted with one sleeping child and another sleepy child checking in late. She took her time with the customer in front without regard for others in line. When she got to us, she immediately turned to the other staff person to tell him something. When I told her that we would appreciate streamlining the check in process, she sneered that she needed to train. Oddly, I didn’t see her training when she was checking in the people before and taking a long time. But she felt the need to slow our process to “train.” Subsequently, she was cold and clearly rude. Even when I went outside, I felt someone looking. I looked inside and saw her staring at me and my small child as we tried to figure out how to get our luggage and my sleeping child into the room. Definitely one of the most uncomfortable check in experiences I have had in a very long time, if ever. Amelia can possibly train in other areas, but should not train in hospitality. Treating favored customers with warmth but those that are going through a tough moment with clear rudeness and absolute thoughtlessness is not good hospitality overall. I know the employee market is tough these days and Amelia will likely remain in her position without performance guidance. I provided this feedback only upon request.

Great staff! From the lobby to the restaurant to the spa.

Firstly, all the staff were excellent everywhere we went. Really appreciated the friendliness of everyone. My disappointment lies with the following: - the carpeting throughout the hotel, including rooms, the spa and hallways is in poor condition and doesn't look clean. It was highly unappealing. - my room (1206) in particular had the following issues - the furniture was damaged from water, causing bubbling. It looked old and tired. the couch had a large stain on the cushion. the door to the bathroom was in poor shape, with damage and bubbling of the wood at the base. the shower head was gross with scaling build up, the toilet moved every time I sat down (and I'm a light person) and I did not feel that the bathtub and one of the sinks were cleaned properly. - additionally, the couch in my friends' room (1203) was so uncomfortable to sit on because you could feel the bars from the bed through it. these things made me feel that I was not getting good value for money considering the cost of the hotel.
