The service was impeccable!

Very friendly staff, good breakfast. Pool was fine and clean. Excellent spa. Its a special place build in wood, but it needs a bit of oil. If you stay in building 5,6 or 7 there is a long way down to lobby and pool, but they offers cars up and down so you shouldn't walk the long way up and down.

Where to begin, this resort positions itself on its website as a luxury private and exclusive eco friendly hotel. The reality is unfortunately entirely the opposite. We were due to stay here for four nights as part of our honeymoon and we ended our trip early so we could leave. Getting to the hotel is a challenge despite the fact you’re already paying extortionate prices for hotel rooms (I’ll come back to this later), you also must pay £30 per person for the luxury of getting to the hotel via speedboat/van transfer. No luxury hotels I have been to charge guests to get there on top of paying for their rooms. There is also only ONE transfer per day, at 11:00 from the pier to the hotel. And guess what - you will wait hours without your luggage or anything for your rooms to be ready. On arrival at the pier at the hotel it was clear this is not an exclusive hotel, rather a busy one. The group checking in were taken to a room where we had to watch a PowerPoint presentation about the resort which honestly felt like begin on a school trip. We thought we’d grab some food, while we waited for our room to be ready, and I wanted something small so got a kids spaghetti which was vile. See the photo. Swimming in water and just flavourless. And very expensive too, this is not five star dining at all. We finally get taken to our room which turns out is 20 mins from the lobby where the main pool is. Super petit déjeuner et super chambre

Wir hatten einen absolut traumhaften Aufenthalt im Santhiya Koh Yao Yai. Die gesamte Anlage ist wunderschön gestaltet – viel Natur, traditionelle thailändische Architektur und eine atemberaubende Aussicht auf das Meer. Unser Zimmer war geräumig, sehr sauber und liebevoll eingerichtet, mit einem fantastischen Blick auf die Bucht. Der Service war herausragend: Das Personal war jederzeit freundlich, aufmerksam und hilfsbereit. Besonders das Frühstücksbuffet hat uns begeistert – große Auswahl, frische Zutaten und eine tolle Atmosphäre direkt am Meer. Auch der private Strand ist ein Highlight: ruhig, sauber und perfekt zum Entspannen. Eine kleine Anmerkung: Die Matratzen auf den Liegen sind definitiv in die Jahre gekommen – einige sind gerissen und wirken, als hätten sie Feuchtigkeit abbekommen. Hier wäre eine Erneuerung wünschenswert. Trotzdem haben wir uns rundum wohlgefühlt und können das Santhiya Koh Yao Yai absolut empfehlen.
