I recently stayed at the E&O Penang and overall had a very good experience. The room itself was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well kept. I needed a few extra items like towels, and although I had to ask, the staff responded quickly and efficiently, which I really appreciated. One area that could be improved is the food offering. The room service menu is quite limited, especially late at night. Arriving back at the hotel around 11:30pm to find the bars and restaurants closed left very few options, which was a little disappointing for a hotel of this standard. Some of the common areas, particularly around the pool and outdoor spaces, are starting to show their age and could benefit from a refresh. It would also be great to see more variety in the food choices across the hotel, especially more local Asian options. Overall, though, it’s a solid 4 out of 5 stay — classic, comfortable, and with excellent service when needed. With a few updates and broader dining options, it could easily reach a 5.

Hotel has a history and the surrounding environment is nice for sure, the restaurant at 6 floor, facing the seashore and relaxing. Management quality of the hotel can be improved however. Specially, I found a total of around 10 ants at random places over two days in the room. The luggage being said will send to the room, but it never appear after 3 hours. Staffs at reception desks can be nicer and more helpful.

Everything is very good except the pillows in the bedroom smells damp due to humidity from the seaside.
