An amazing stay! Great location, walking distance to the Prague Castle and Charles Bridge. Very spacious room, bed, & bathroom. Quiet at night and safe location. Staff members were helpful & pleasant. Breakfast was delicious and always something to look forward to in the mornings. I would recommend this stay to anyone visiting Prague.
We have stayed here before and brought 2 friends with us this time. Brilliantly placed to access the city either on foot or by tram, we were given a really good-sized room with spacious bathroom, both of which were cleaned daily. Breakfast was very good as was the bar, while the staff were superb. We didn't eat there but the food looked very good. This hotel is wonderful value and if and when we visit Prague again, we will be staying at the Hoffmeister.
On arrival the check in was fine and as expected, then we were taken aside for a sales pitch of excursions and private tours. This felt like hard sale, made us feel uncomfortable.
Facilities: they do have a spa, and the massage I had was really great so cannot fault them there.
The room was spacious and clean, furniture and bathroom tired looking.
The breakfast was ok, just average continental, no menu for cooked options, which is very unusual for a 5* establishment.
Cleaning ladies are lovely, everything was clean.
The bar service was a huge disappointment, my husband tried their beer which he found substandard. I requested a Mojito, which was no more than watered down rum - never had a Mojito this bad. I just abandoned it after the first sip.
The most unpleasant part was our departure, when we requested a taxi at reception, but they refused to call one, as they had their own taxi service (as they called it). In reality it consisted of a van.
5* hotels often have limousine service, but never in my experience do they refuse to call you a taxi in order to try and force you into using it.
Well these people do.
All in all an OK stay. The hotel is 4* at best. The service is no more then 3.
The hotel is brilliant. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfy, and the location is about as good as it gets. We stayed for a week in one of the junior suites and had amazing public transport connections to both the airport and the city. The bathroom facilities are excellent and the bath big enough for two. The mattresses were high end and we slept like babies. Despite being next to a main road, the windows are very well insulated and so noise isn't an issue - this is the same with interior insulation, no noise from other rooms or the atrium made it's way in at night.
The let downs with this hotel are mainly the quality of the staff. The staff are all lovely people and are trying their best, but we felt the standard of training was not what we would expect from a 5* hotel. From simple things like housekeeping wearing leggings and a sports jacket rather than a uniform (not a big deal but again, 5*) to wait staff who were clearly lacking in etiquette training, both at breakfast and dinner.
We tried the restaurant once, the food was delicious, and we were happy with the prices in comparison to UK standards, but not in comparison to what we ate elsewhere throughout our stay. The waiter was a young man who seemed happy enough tending a bar, but lacked knowledge in food service. We had to wait 10 minutes for the week's menus to be rewritten in English, now this would normally be fine but we weren't told this until they were done. Turns out this review has a character limit.
