The facility seemed very old and wasnt maintained well. The beds were uncomfortable and as pur room was closer to the road very noisy.
Our stay at this hotel was very disappointing. The rooms were extremely cramped. We booked a room for four people, but two of us were expected to share a sofa bed. The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable, with hard springs that made it impossible to rest properly.
Housekeeping was almost non-existent. There was no room service at al!! Only towel changes. Basic necessities like toilet tissue were not replenished, which was unacceptable.
The shower water pressure was incredibly weak. Given the cold weather, the slow and barely warm shower made the experience even worse.
Breakfast was very basic and limited. The spread consisted of eggs, hotdogs, bread, a small salad bar, and orange juice. Definitely not worth looking forward to.
The front desk service was also poor. We arrived at 11 a.m and the lobby was empty for an hour as we settled down. We were informed that check-in would be at 3 p.m., which was fine. We left our luggage, went out, and returned at 3 p.m. However, the staff did not attend to us immediately and served other guests first. When she finally attended to us, she requested passport details and proceeded with paperwork for all 10 of us, which took an additional 30 minutes. This was frustrating, especially since we had already completed online check-in and were required to repeat the process manually.

Terrible Experience – Agoda Should Delist This Hotel
My stay at Hotel Montana Zurich was absolutely unacceptable. Agoda should seriously consider delisting this property because nothing was transparent and the experience was shocking.
I was hit with hidden charges that were never mentioned on Agoda — including USD 102 at the self check-in machine (security fees, city taxes, and breakfast) plus CHF 25 for breakfast. These extra costs were a complete surprise.
The staff was rude, refused early check-in even though I arrived at 11 AM with my child, and despite paying extra charges at 11 AM, they still didn’t allow check-in. When I came back at 2:30 PM, no staff was present, and after one hour of waiting, I had to use the machine which charged me again.
The room was dirty, with big spiders, and the breakfast was extremely poor — no cutlery and very limited options.
Overall, this is one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in. I strongly recommend Agoda to highlight all hidden charges clearly and take action. I also request a refund of USD 102 plus CHF 25 that I was wrongly charged.
We had a lovely stay in beautiful Lucerne. Property was close to everything and very practical.
