Very friendly and absolutely stunning setting.

If you are heading north of Chiang Mai, don’t miss out on staying here! The hosts are super attentive, the place is lovingly taking care of and spotless clean. The views are spectacular and the breakfast is unique and delicious. We prolonged our stay as we didn’t want to leave!

This is a very nice place. It sits at the bottom of a small hill in a quiet area, not too far from Chiang Dao Town. The owners are a retired couple who opened up their "villa", for guests so the property feels like a Bed and Breakfast kind of place. They are a kind and respectful elderly couple. The property has a big English garden in the front of the house, with plenty of colorful flowers and plants, adding to the charm. They keep up the maintenance quite well, as it feels quite homey and cosy. I was told they only have three rooms. The room I stayed in is adjacent to a bigger room, but it was big enough and comfy. The bigger room next door is even equipped with a separate kitchen and plenty of space. What impresses me most is that the property has an unobstructed, spectacular view of Doi Luang Chiang Dao, which drew me to this place. During my stay, mine was the only one occupied so it was quiet and peaceful. As the property is not located within the town limit, it would be a long walk through small roads to get food or anything else, so you would definitely need a vehicle, or at least a scooter, to take you anywhere. I believe you can get them through the owners. Nonetheless, there was a local restaurant about 10 min walk away, and a cosy coffee place opposite the property, right in the middle of a rice field, which is also amazing on its own. I believe the coffee shop is called Kumpanna or something similar but don't quote me on that. I highly recommend the place just for the clear view of Doi Luang Chiang Dao alone. I was told the best season to come view the grand Doi Luang Chiang Dao is in the rainy season, despite the common belief that the best season is the cool or dry season. This is now probably and sadly true because of the burning of the crops during the dry season.

I was debating whether to visit Chang Dao and spent a long time searching for accommodation. I went through all the options but couldn’t find anything that really caught my eye. I decided to slightly exceed my daily budget, and it turned out to be a total wi, looking back, I’m so glad I did. I stayed there for a week as a solo traveler. I wanted to explore the area and also rest, and this place proved to be perfect for both. Even after arriving and seeing some of the hotels in person, I knew it was the best choice. JOI and LEK welcomed me warmly. Their recommendations were excellent I wouldn’t have found some of the best places to visit on my own. They have a great list they’re happy to share with guests. The breakfast was delicious and customizable to your preferences, with enough variety that every day felt different, which was really cool. The room was clean, smelled great, and was in excellent condition. The view was stunning, and the peaceful, quiet atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for. Wake up to this view it was just wow. The experience is unlike any other resort I’ve been to because the service is personal and genuine. They truly love hosting people, and it shows. They go the extra mile. JOI even drove me to the bus station on my last day. There’s no doubt that next time I visit Chang Dao, I’ll stay only here. If it’s slightly over your budget like it was for me, it’s absolutely worth it. My recommendation is to stay more than 3 days to fully experience the place and the town at a relaxed pace. Beautiful surroundings & quiet. The room was very clean & comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding. The hosts are lovely people & have created a stay to remember! A must stay if you’re visiting Chiang Dao!
