We recently stayed at the Anantara New York Palace Hotel in Budapest for my husband’s birthday celebrations and to enjoy the Christmas markets. We had an absolutely wonderful three-night stay and I’m happy to give them a full five stars. The hotel itself is beautifully designed with a cozy, warming interior that made us feel right at home. Every member of the staff was incredibly friendly, supportive, and helpful, which really added to the experience. One of the biggest perks was being able to visit the famous New York Café right there in the hotel without having to queue up. We didn’t get a chance to use the pool and spa area, so I can’t comment on that, but our room was perfect for us - spacious and comfortable. The location is also fantastic, with so many places to visit within a short walk, so we could enjoy the beautiful views and local sights just by strolling around. Overall, it was a memorable stay and we’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Budapest.

The room was nice. The staff is what let down the place. One day I sat in the lobby for more than an hour, not one person came in to ask if I needed food or drinks. We put do not disturb on the door, yet at 5am housekeeping was ringing the bell. Totally baffled by that. Do not disturb means do not disturb. On the day we were checking out bell boy helped get the suitcase out but then just left us on the street. I had tips in my pocket ready to go but seeing we had to load our own suitcases into the taxi, and he wasn’t anywhere to be seen, he really did miss out on making some tip. New York cafe is over rated. Very expensive and value wasn’t there. But overall, staff is what let down this place.
