There is no onsite reception, just a ridiculously complicated online check-in which should remotely open the door. But I couldn't get through the garden gate even. Finally an old lady showed up who did not speak English and I don't speak Italian so we stood around for a good 25 mins before the room door miraculously unlocked.
After a very late night I was woken up at 8.30 am by a cleaner who didn't speak English either but indicated I should phone the hotel operators, Everytime I tried, the phone was answered but then put down on me. Someone then phoned the cleaner and I was able to speak with the operators using that connection. They wanted a new card number which I was obliged to give even though I had no idea why the one I had used when I booked was not sufficient.
It was a mess from start to finish.
Avoid!!! Confusing check-in involved many, online documents and an off-site person who could not open the entrance gate remotely. Also, they did not know the difference between a key and a card needed for various applications.
This modern and generic building is for short-term stays and run by a business, not a local. The small, rooftop terrace and common kitchens with vending machines were a bonus, and cleaning was thorough.
The room with the detached bathroom had no air conditioning, even though that was advertised. The room is up 37 stairs on the 3rd floor, which was not advertised. The wifi never worked in the room, although I asked for 3 days for a resolution. The room is very dark inside at night, so hard to read. Terrible room!
From the train station, google maps does not show you have to go up/down a hill of stairs, so it was hard with rolling and heavy luggage. Located in a residential area with no shops nearby, so it is isolated from the center by a 15 minute walk. Stay away from this mismanaged, corporate lodging!
