the toilet seat was broken , when we reported this they said they would inform maintenance, although they had dining rooms we had to go over the road to there sister hotel for our evening meal which we were overcharged for, on getting back to our hotel the toilet had not been fixed and we had to go to reception for a second time , we were told that they would move us to the sister hotel across the road, we had no help in moving just told to go over to the other hotel we were told we could have a complimentary night at another time but were given nothing the bill was not reduced , the toaster at breakfast was broken and they didn't seem bothered to fix it this is not what I expected for the money paid I have had far better service in bed and breakfast
On arrival, the hotel does not match the pictures on site. We are still to find the lake with the boats!
Staff are ok, but only see two people in the whole building.
Went down to the bar, where we were told we needed to use the facilities at their sister hotel, a 10 minutes walk over the road.
We arrived back at our hotel room at 11pm, it was so quiet, the receptionist was talking to a “friend” and when asked if we could get a drink we were told “no” whilst he laughed at us.
Neighbours were so loud from 7am this morning. Staff knocking on their door to hand things over, with total disregard for other people that were sleeping.
I don’t know if it was just a one off, but I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone!
I booked the Windlaestrae hotel (having scrolled past the Green hotel on the list) but yet, when I arrived to check in, I was sent to the Green Hotel anyway.
Heather on reception was lovely, good fun and very helpful as were the staff in Jock's bar where I had dinner. The rump steak was excellent as was dessert and the bar has a good selection of drinks.
My room was very clean, tidy and comfortable but the bathroom was looking very old and tired with stained grout and flooring yellowed over a long life.
Breakfast the mext morning was somewhat disappointing, no organe juice, little left in one of the fruit bowls and the young team, although polite, were not as warm and welcoming as Heather or the Jock's bar staff. When it came to the main event, there was no bread for toast, no plates available and no bacon or link sausages.
Overall, the room was decent value for money. I stayed with work but Im not sure I would stay for a leisure trip.
After a small one or two issues, the staff reacted professionally to my issues and helped to resolve them, which I am grateful for, whilst the room does need a little colour in it, it was suitable. Having however to eat at the sister hotel on the night I stayed was a little disappointing, but the service there was fine.
Comfortable hotel. Easy car parking. Nice swimming pool.
