Very nice stay. Personalized service. Staff were super and so hospitable. Caleb was great at checking us in and explaining everything. The art gallery reception area was especially engaging.
We were driving so location is ok. May not be the best option if not driving and wanted to go to the beach as it’s not a good idea for walking.
Check in staff was great. Provide info we wanted.
Big rooms and big toilet.
Wonderfully spacious room, with fridge and microwave. Great breakfast. Pools were great and all staff were wonderful. One thing to be mindful of is if you have no car, there is no footpath for walking to restaurants, and it's very hilly, so a bit dangerous at night if planning to walk. Be prepared to take taxis
This hotel was perfect ...staff were so friendly ...stayed 3 nights ..moved on then came back for 3 nights ..rooms were large and well planned out ..could not fault it ... breakfast was excellent....

We had a beautiful stay at Plaza Yara. We were greeted by a friendly pug, also named Yara. The reception area is a gallery with handmade oil paintings made by artists on-site. The room was very spacious, with a kitchen and dining area, and looking into a patch of jungle. There was not a speck of dust. Other rooms have balconies
with good views, and/or decks that open to the pool area. It looks like the small hotel was built in a way so each room has a great view, making you forget the hotel is located along a major road.
The entire property is up against a patch of rainforest. Within 20 minutes of our arrival, Nelson called our room to let us know there was a sloth hanging out in a tree outside the reception area! (We had already paid big money for guided tours to see sloths - and this was the closest encounter of our entire trip.) We saw other wild animals while there, including macaws flying above.
The entire property is immaculate. The outdoor seating and pool areas are relaxing and great places to spot wildlife. The breakfast was pretty good - they offered a choice of casada (traditional breakfast with eggs, plantains, rice/beans), yogurt + fruit, eggs, omelet, or pancakes.
I hope to be back someday!
