The Strand is in a great location; a short walk from the town or slightly longer walk to the beach. With parking also available it's a very convenient place to come for a few days at the seaside. Staff are friendly, and the location quiet enough for a good night's rest.

my partner is astmatic, two flights of stairs was too much for him. the room was tiny hardly room too move. a member of staff had bad manners.

The hotel was suitable for my requirements. I was greeted very politely by a lovely young man who kindly carried my case to my room and handed me my keys after explaining all the necessary safety information and contact numbers. I was fully aware that my room was VERY small with it own sink tv tea and coffee and I had the use of a very clean shared bathroom. The only issue I had with my room was because it was so very small the bed in the room was the narrowest single bed I have ever seen in my life!! I had to try and sleep on my back as every time I rolled to my right I head butted the wall. If I was an oversized person I would not of been able to fit on the bed. I also feel the mattress could do with replacing.. too lumpy. And as if to make sure I got as little sleep as possible a huge spider landed on my face during the night and it took all my strength not to scream out loud. I had the window open all night and the street was very quiet. I was woken in the morning by the smell of people smoking below my window. I would recommend paper towels in the shared bathroom rather than a hand towel or nothing at all towels are provided in all the rooms. Having access to disinfecting wipes to clean the toilet seat before and after use would of been a nice touch. I brought my own. I don’t eat breakfast so after a cup tea (Tetley tea bags are provided I prefer PG tips so I always carry my own) I headed home

Warm welcome by the friendly host who gave clear instructions if I needed anything. He carried my bags up the stairs and the waitress who provided the breakfast was helpful. Good self-serve breakfast with a wide range of small packaged cheeses, cereals, a few fruit juices (there may have been yoghurts) toast and conserves. The bed was comfortable and the room small but clean with a shared, equally clean shower room and toilet. There was a local shop nearby and it was a short walk to the beach and high street. Somewhat noisy at night but that couldn’t be helped.

Lovely hotel. Very clean. Would highly recommend
