Refused our reservation that was made and paid for three months in advance. Front desk clerk had horrible customer service, and the manager refused to talk with us. It looked like you could rent rooms by the hour. In hindsight, it was a blessing. The place was an absolute dump.
The main issue is that it is just an older place. Nice staff!
Booked and paid in advance via Expedia. Drove two hours to get there. Upon arrival was informed the hotel had been purchased by a new mgmt company that does not use Expedia, so no reservation was actually made. Clerk informed they would price match but that I’d have to wait for a refund from Expedia AND that they require a $100 deposit. Contacted Expedia for help via chat. Rep informed me he would take care of it. He “called and spoke with someone at the hotel” and insinuated the situation had been worked out. I was instructed to go inside and speak to a particular person and mention his name as he’d just spoken to them. Inside, the rep stated they had no one working there by that name and had NOT spoken to anyone from Expedia. At this point, my biggest concern was that I did not have the money to book there or anywhere as I spent my last bit of money on that room and would not have the money to book anywhere else until the next day, leaving me Stranded without anywhere to stay! The old owner of the hotel called me to inform me that they had spoken to Expedia and refunded them for my stay but I would need to wait for them to refund me. Expedia informed me it would be up to 15 business days before the money was returned to me. The actual hotel..Super shady. A cop I ran into across the street informed me I shouldn’t stay there due to poor reviews, prison right down the street, and frequent prisoners on work release.
