We knew that this was an older style Bali hotel which we usually like. Unfortunately it needs some serious maintenance, especially in the 3 story building where the deluxe rooms and sea view rooms are. When we arrived there was no one to greet us and we had to drag our suitcase up some steep stairs. We were allocated the incorrect room (“deluxe” garden ), which is up lots of stairs in a very old delapidated part of the hotel. Back to reception where they apologised for their error and we were generously upgraded to a garden suite. These are great! Very large and clean, right next to the beach and the pool. Breakfast is basic but okay to start the day with. Staff is friendly but that’s it. It feels like the hotel doesn’t know how to market itself. There is a happy hour , however no announcements but for a small note on the menu. There are themed dinners, just a small note on a notice board . Staff seems to lack enthusiasm and the warmth what we usually experience in other hotels. Uniform looks more appropriate for a shop or factory. This hotel has lots of potential but somehow doesn’t show it. All up, we still enjoyed it because of the great location opposite the beach with some lovely restaurants with good food!
