When I’m traveling alone for conventions where I’ll be spending very little time at the hotel, I’m willing to settle for the bare minimum required by the health department; spending a bunch of money on a Taj Mahal that I’ll barely even take advantage of would be foolishness.. Hot water is one of those requirements. The day after check in the desk clerk said a repair person was coming for the hot water heater the next day. After it wasn’t fixed, the regional manager who was serving as desk clerk claimed to know nothing about the hot water issue. No offer to discount my stay or anything, stated “I’m trying to sell this property”. After it was clear nothing was going to be done, I complained to the health department, and their investigation revealed the hot water heater was turned off. I hate to be the Karen, but this is asinine. If they had food at this hotel, that part would be shut down over this. As a business person myself, I get it that things happen, and I get it that the motel probably loses money, but don’t freaking lie like that, it’s not cool at all.
