I always love coming here! We do it annually, if not more as we live in Colorado. I’ve NEVER had a BAD experience so please don’t read this in that way. Only warning I have is don’t sleep in room 402. It’s right by glass doors that slam all night with people going through them and it’s attached to a main hallway. Other than that - it’s always a pleasure!
The Stanley is an iconic place. We didn’t have a tv remote for the tv. They did bring one after calling 3 times. The guy on our night tour gave great historic information, but didn’t seem happy to be giving the tour. A little enthusiasm would have been appreciated. The Stanley property is beautiful with the mountain backdrop.
Staying at The Stanley is always a great time! It is such a beautiful hotel, the staff is always very welcoming and we’ve always been grateful to be able to bring our dog! We stayed in The Lodge this trip and were surprised to find there wasn’t a mini fridge or a microwave despite having an enormous closet that would’ve easily fit these items. Of course we found out later that we could have gotten a fridge if we had just asked- but we hate to be a bother. For the price of the room, these amenities are just kind of expected these days. Oh well! We love The Stanley no matter what! Thanks for being such a cool place to stay!
Property and history is neat, but our room was dirty. The bathroom was in the worst shape and the furniture in the room was chipped and the carpet didn’t look like it had been vacuumed.
The property was poorly soundproofed and the external doors poorly fitted which required shutting with force which was not pleasant when you are close to the exits. In addition, tours of the hotel we're being run during the day time resulting in a very noisy environment and little opportunity to have quiet time in a room during the day. There was also very noisy guests during the night between 11:00pm and 2:30am which disrupted the slepp of myself and a number of other guests on the floor.
