Milford Sound Lodge

We stayed in a Mountain View room. Very spacious with all the amenities needed. The restaurant was very impressive especially the tasting menu was a delight for the tastebuds. The staff was great to interact with and very friendly and helpful.

Conveniently located after a long day of hiking. With limited food and drink options you kind of have to pay their high prices. Food at Pio Pio is incredibly good. We had the lamb duo and Fiordland venison with the pear goat cheese salad. Everything was delicious! Views from the chalets are breathtaking. The real knock on the place is the room gets very warm during the day even with the curtains and shades closed and stays hot through most of the night. They do provide a fan, but it’s warm until 3-4:00 in the morning. Would only stay one night next time.

Skeleton facilities without view but come with a hefty price tag. Only choice in town if you must stay near for early next day hiking.

If you are considering to stay at this only one accomodation in Milford Sound, please go for it. The best ever and you just gotta experience it yourself.

The lodge is amazinggg!!! The amount spent was so worth it! It’s surrounded by mountains and the air is so freshhh. The Kea’s will also come and visit you and they are so cute and intelligent! The room is very comfortable and I like their TV channels, as they have good movies to watch while you relax in the room. They have good variety of teas as well! I also like the dinner menu and I ordered it for room service every night! The staffs were so friendly and helpful. I will definitely come back again!
