Minshuku Inakahama (Yakushima)

I was lucky to find availability for my 4 nights accommodation at the last minute. This place turned out to be a hidden gem with an exceptionally beautiful location directly facing Nagata Inakahama beach. I could see many stars in the night sky even just from my balcony. This guesthouse is modern with only a few other guests and each room faces the ocean with private balconies. The owner was very kind and helpful to accommodate my requests. The room is tatami style with comfortable futon. The main entrance is inviting with beautiful wooden beam ceiling and photos of nature scenes taken by the owner. They have a kitchen where I believe they occasionally offer breakfast or dinner for groups. I was one of only a few guests so I really could enjoy the privacy and quiet time in evening after day activities. I can highly recommend this accommodation best suited for those with a car. However, I could manage without a car with the bus stop just 2 minutes walk. I really enjoyed to hear the sounds of ocean waves at night, a very peaceful night’s sleep. You can see the volcano island from each guest room balcony.

렌트카 이용자라면 꼭 와볼 것. 서부임도 근처여서 저녁이 되면 사람들이 오지 않는 곳. 숙소에서 바다가 보이고 사장님의 조식과 석식을 먹을 수 있는 곳. 5~7월에 어미거북이가 바로 앞 백사장으로 와서 알을 낳고 7월 말 ~ 9월에 새끼거북이가 바다로 나가는 모습을 볼 수 있는 곳.

Very friendly staff, great dinner and breakfast (included in the price), spotless room with tatami, private balcony and toilet. The bathroom (Japanese style) is shared. Note: check-out is until 9AM (which was no issue for us). Would gladly stay again!
