We recently had a two night stay at the hotel and whilst the cost for a family room for 2 nights was reasonable in great surroundings, beyond that was disappointing and expensive. Food options - Restaurant or Lounge, we opted for the Lounge after a 9 hour journey with the tired kids (10 & 12). Having looked at the menu’s online, the lounge menu was supposedly cheaper ! Not the case The menu on line was not available, after asking for a menu we were provided a restaurant menu and what felt like a paper print out for the lounge. Most items from lounge menu were not available, although fish and chips were … only later to find out we were billed at restaurant prices with no real explanation of why ! I only found out the over pricing on return home when my wife gave me the receipts !! The breakfast was extremely painful, most items were empty on asking if they would be refilled got a rather rude “we are doing it” ! Was it worth the £20+ per person, not at all. The reception staff were lovely, welcoming and helpful. The lounge bar staff appeared demotivated and was just present. The breakfast staff, one lady was rude - the two younger gentlemen were doing their best but seemed very under pressure. I’ve said I’d recommend based on the accommodation/location being reasonable - food & drink id suggest going to the local pub which I’m sure would be significantly cheaper.

Honestly wonderful experience all round. The staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable. Food was pretty good, facilities were fab and spa treatments were amazing. My only negative was that the beds were a bit bouncy for my preference.
